Discipleship

To be a disciple of Jesus Christ is to be a learner, who is committed to an ongoing process of discovering God’s truth.  2 Timothy 3:16-17 explains,“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

It is our firm belief that without God’s truth to guide us, strengthen us & protect us, we are powerless to overcome evil and powerless to claim & live the victory that our Lord has already won on the cross.  Therefore we offer various opportunities to grow in our knowledge & understanding of God’s living truth & ultimately deepen our personal & intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, our Savior & Lord.

Did you know that the survey of the New Testament shows that many significant lessons of Jesus took place either on the water or near the water? Mark 4 describes how Jesus taught parables from the boat on the lake due to the size of the crowd. It was also on the Sea of Galilee that Jesus taught His disciples about faith during a storm. In John 4, Jesus extended salvation to a Samaritan woman who came to the well. On the shore at the Sea of Tiberias, Jesus instructed Peter to feed His sheep.

As the Fountain of life, Jesus’ invitation remains the same,“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters… Give ear and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live (Isaiah 55:1 & 3).”
